Access & Site Prep Requirements
Access Requirements
- Adequate access must be provided for AmishCo to deliver the building fully assembled, and is the sole responsibility of the Purchaser.
- In some cases buildings can be delivered using the Mule Building Mover with dolly wheels. This allows for more flexibility, maneuverability, greater float, a lower overall profile of the building when being moved, and may not require the truck and trailer to access the exact delivery site.
- In some cases the truck and trailer must access the exact delivery site. This is usually the case if the building is too large or too heavy or otherwise not suitable to be moved with the Mule Building Mover. Some examples of this may include large Garages, large Horse Barns, large Sheds with finished interiors, etc. Please consult your Sales Advisor for more details.
- For width we will generally need a clearance that is 2’ wider than the widest part of the building or module being delivered. The widest part of the building is usually the overhang.
- Example: a 10’ wide building with 6” overhangs will require 13’ clearance in width. (10’ + 6” + 6” + 2’ = 13’)
- Example: a 12’ wide building with an 18” quaker-style overhang will require 15’ 6” clearance in width. (12’ + 18” + 2’ = 15’ 6”)
- Example: a 14’ building with 6” overhangs will require 17’ clearance in width. (14’ + 6” + 6” + 2’ = 17’)
- Please Note! To be as clear as possible, a 12’ wide building will not fit through a 12’ gate. If the delivery path is level and there are no turns required, a 12’ building may fit through a 14’ gate, assuming the building does not have any overhangs or the gate posts are beneath them.
- Please note that additional clearance may be needed if the building or module is long, there are turns required, or the delivery path is sloped left to right or vice versa.
- Also please note that our drivers are the best in the business. They are very good at what they do but they cannot be expected to attempt deliveries that are unreasonable, unrealistic, unsafe, or that require an exceptional and unordinary amount of time. They are almost always on a tight schedule.
- For height we will generally need 14’ in unrestricted height, and more in cases of ground slope as well as additional height to lift the trailer when off-loading the building.
Site Prep Requirements
- Sheds & Greenhouses with Standard Wood Floors:
- 3”-5” of Crushed Stone, Laser Leveled and Tamped is always recommended.
- This allows for a good, firm, level, great looking foundation that also extends the life of the building by removing water away from the bottom of the building.
- Our driver’s will make the minor adjustments or shimmying needed to ensure the doors function properly after the building is set, as unlevel or uneven pads may require the doors to jam.
- In some regions Blocking may be available as an alternative option to a Stone Pad.
