Questions About Our Horse Barns in Eagleville? Get Your Answers Here!

How does AmishCo build a horse barn in Eagleville?

One of the unique aspects of AmishCo is that we use Amish builders to construct our horse barns. We do this because their skill, hard work, ingenuity, and honesty are unrivaled. The Amish are well known for their craftsmanship, and it is for good reasons.

Another unique feature of AmishCo is that we leverage both manufacturing and construction methods and technology. This is one of the more notable differences that sets us apart from a local contractor. The manufacturing aspect of our build process is represented by the fact that we build as much of the horse barn as we can in our shops. There are several advantages to this. It gives us a controlled environment—there are no ‘rainy days’ when you’re working under a roof! It allows our builders to be incredibly efficient as we can set up our saws, tools, and lumber in a way that produces the most output. It also allows us to buy materials in bulk and store them in a protected area from the elements, using them over time. This allows us to buy our materials by the tractor-trailer load, enabling us to use higher-quality materials for less money than if we were buying materials for each job.

We then deliver our horse barns either fully built or in modules. Our run-in sheds are commonly delivered fully built and can even be delivered fully built with a 4’ overhang. However, overhangs over 4’ need to be completed at your site.

Our shed-row horse barns are commonly delivered fully built as well. They can also be delivered fully built with a 4’ overhang, while 6’, 8’, 10’, and 12’ overhangs need to be built after the barn is placed at your site. Our center aisle horse barns are delivered as modular barns. This is called modular-style construction because these barns are typically delivered in 2-3 modules, set and anchored at your location, and finished on site. The onsite work is where the construction methodology comes in. Whatever can’t be built in our shops and delivered can be built at your location. In this way, AmishCo combines the benefits of Amish craftsmanship with the latest in manufacturing, construction, and design technology to deliver consistently beautiful, functional, and durable horse barns!

What are the features included in a horse barn?

AmishCo uses a steel-reinforced, 6x6 pressure-treated perimeter base for all of our barns, which allows us to deliver the barn fully built or in modules. We use solid oak framing and either white pine board & batten siding or LP SmartSide board & batten siding, which has a 50-year limited warranty. The white pine board & batten siding tends to go well with stain and has a beautiful, rustic look, while the LP SmartSide board & batten siding tends to hold paint better and require less maintenance over the years. We use limited lifetime shingles or 40-year metal for the roof.

Each stall comes with a 1” thick solid oak kickboard as well as a powder-coated metal grill partition above the kickboard between each stall. We can build a solid wooden wall partition between each stall as well if that is preferred, at the same price. The shed-row horse barns come with a 4’x7’ Dutch door with a powder-coated metal chew guard on the top of the bottom door. The Dutch doors also come with premium, powder-coated hardware, including horse head door latches and heavy-duty, bolt-thru barn door hinges. Each stall also comes with a 24”x28” sliding wood-sash window with a powder-coated metal grill protector.

Our center aisle horse barns come with 2x8 tongue & groove stall fronts in the center aisle, as well as a sliding stall door and a powder-coated metal grill stall front. Each stall comes standard with a 24”x28” sliding wood-sash window with a powder-coated metal grill protector, which can be upgraded to a 4’x7’ Dutch door if you would like to give your horses an easy exit to their paddock or pasture.

What size horse barn do I need?

The first thing to consider is how many stalls you need. Next, consider how many other rooms or areas you might need, like a tack room, a storage room, a wash stall, or just an open storage area.

Once you have an idea of how many stalls and other rooms you need, you’ll want to consider how large your stalls should be. This is usually dependent on the size of the horse but can include other considerations like foaling stalls, ventilation, future possibilities, etc.

These factors will usually give you a pretty good indication of whether a shed-row horse barn or a center aisle horse barn is more suitable for you. A nice “in-between” option can be an L-shaped horse barn. Overhangs can add a lot to a shed-row horse barn (or any barn for that matter) as well.

What is a modular Amish-built horse barn?

A modular Amish-built horse barn is a barn that is built in modules in our shop and delivered in segments, with the finishing work being completed on site. This is typically the most efficient form of construction for a variety of reasons.

It is also an increasingly common form of construction for its ability to concentrate labor needs and produce consistent results, similar to how cooking in your kitchen tends to deliver a more consistent outcome than cooking over a fire.

What is the average cost to build a horse barn in Eagleville?

The cost of AmishCo’s Amish-built horse barns varies considerably depending on style, size, options, and even delivery location. A $5k Amish-built run-in shed might be exactly what you need, or you may be most happy with a $400k center-aisle horse barn.

Because of this range, it is hard to give average prices, but we would be happy to give you ballpark prices or even an exact quote if you contact us.

Does AmishCo offer a warranty for their horse barns?

AmishCo uses the best materials possible for your horse barn and passes all material warranties along to the purchaser. We also stand behind all of our buildings and will not rest until you are satisfied, so our warranty to you is 100% satisfaction guaranteed. If something is not right, we will fix it.

Does AmishCo build horse barns throughout Eagleville?

Yes! We build our barns anywhere in the Lower 48 states except the State of California.
